Information on purchasing and caring for your new friends

Whims

Whims are thoughts that wandered a little too far from Maunder the dragon. Perhaps you will cross paths with some here in the Grove. If you grow fond enough of one, you may even find it follows you back home!
Whims exist to fulfil your fantasies. You can enjoy their company, knowing they are safe and kind to your body. They are easy to take care of, and if you do so well, you will have a reliable friend for many years to come. They are made from platinum-cured silicone, and their lovely coat colours come from cosmetic-grade mica powders and skin-safe pigments. Each one is truly unique; even if using the same silicone and colours, the way they are poured ensures subtle differences between every one. Their squishiness can be measured by the Shore Hardness scale.
Softer Whims (00-35 and below) may have a slightly tacky feel to the touch. A light dusting of cornflour when they're resting will keep them soft and silky.

Runts

A Whim is classified as a Runt if it has small defects - these may include soft areas, nicks, repairs or bubbles. The details of any notible flaws are described individually and are reflected in a discount on the price. They can still be faithful companions, with a bit of extra love and care.

Familiars

Familiars are not made for intimate use, but for visual and tactile enjoyment. They make great stress balls or desk buddies. You may find some sneaking in your order as a bonus! Whims that are deemed to be unsafe for intimate use due to their flaws, but who are still cosmetically appealing, are also classified as familiars.

Cleaning, Care, and Hibernation

Your Whim will appreciate regular bathing with soap and water, especially before and after you play with it. Make sure to get into any cracks and crevices where dirt and bacteria may lurk, rinse thoroughly afterwards, and leave it to fully dry before putting it away to hibernate.
Your Whim can also be sterilised by popping them into boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Once they're done with their hot spring soak, leave them to air dry.
Whims will not react if kept in contact with other platinum silicone beings. They should not be stored alongside toys of any other materials, espeically those you are unsure of, as this may cause them damage.

Safety

While Whims will be safe inside you, you must be responsible for how you choose to use them.
Excessive stretching, tugging, picking and pulling will hurt them. It is especially important to treat thinner areas or raised texture with care. Keep them far away from sharp objects.
Silicone-based lube can hurt their skin; a water-based lube should be used to make their hide slippery and sleek.
Beware! The lack of retrieval methods means Brood and Eggs can get lost down burrows that have no end. Don't put them anywhere that you're not certain you can get them back out of!
